Watering Holes on Vancouver Island

The pub culture is alive and well on Vancouver
Island! Here are some local favourites.....

1. Irish Times Pub (Victoria)
This pub has awesome celtic music (if you're into that) and kilt wearing servers! The menu is island inspired with lots of delicious fresh seafood, wings, nachos and the usual pub fare. There is also an extensive menu with salads, main entrees and dessert. Mondays are 2 for 1 fish and chips. Daniel Lapp hosts a traditional celtic session every Sunday at 7:30pm. There is also live music every Friday afternoon between 5:30 and 7:30pm. All Canucks games are televised including Pay-Per-View.

2. Shady Rest Pub (Qualicum Beach)
The Shady Rest Pub is a magnificent beachfront pub on the shore of Qualicum Beach.
It boasts 75 years in service! This pub serves everything - breakfast, brunch and dinner!
For breakfast there is ample egg dishes avaliable - everything from Eggs bennie to omelettes. Dinner is a delicious array of seafood, there favourites are the teriyaki stirfry and the jambalaya.

3. Crow & Gate Pub(Cedar)
This authentic Old English pub is nestled deep in the heart of Cedar, in between Nanaimo and Ladysmith. It can be difficult to find, but once you find this little gem of a pub you won't be disappointed. The pub has majestic gardens and landscape that is lovely. You can find ample traditional english food, roast beef and yorkshire pudding a plenty!
This pub was the first neighbourhood pub in British Columbia.
The dinner menu varies each night and it has nightly specials. Mondays and Tuesday are the original burger and salad special. Wednesdays and Saturdays are the roast beef and yorkshires special.
