Vancouver Island tip to tip trip
So we have decided in our infinite wisdom to take on the task of driving Vancouver Island tip to tip. Here is the tenative plan.We live in Nanaimo, so from Nanaimo we will head towards Parksville/Qualicum, stay the night at our favourite beach resort (and do a REVIEW of course!). From there we will venture into the Comox Valley, after exploring the Horne Lake caves. Tuesday night we will stay in the Courtenay/Campbell River. If possible we'd like to stop and visit a local fish farm, so if anyone knows of how we can go about this - please contact us. Wednesday will involve either going the Tofino/Ucluelet route or head onto Port Hardy. We will be exploring all the little towns and villages in between (Lund, Black Creek, Fanny Bay, Nanoose). Then we would head south all the way to the lower tip of Vancouver Island . Our trip would end in beautiful Victoria BC.
According to mapquest the whole trip is estimated to take 10 hrs and 21 minutes. Within this time frame we would cover almost 900 kms!! Any suggestions for accommodations, food or sights (hikes, kayaking etc) would be greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to documenting our adventures with everyone.
