Ladysmith Festival of Lights

Thursday Nov.28th is the spectacular Festival of Lights in Ladysmith! This year is the 26th Annual. Just some random tidbits of information before I share the itinerary for tonight.

  • Over 1000 volunteer hours goes into making it all shine!
  • Light-Up is ALWAYS the last Thursday in November
  • Over 200,000 Christmas Lights sparkle the town until January 13th.

The itinerary is as follows:

3pm: Community spaghetti dinner @ The Eagles Hall - Adults $8, Children under 10 $5.
Also, Christmas Craft Fair at the Aggie Hall

4pm: Street entertainment and food concessions (all along 1st Ave)

4pm-6:15pm: Stage entertainment, in front of Aggie Hall on 1st Ave.

6:30pm: Santa arrives to light up the town!

6:45pm: Kinsmen Parade all along 1st Ave down to Aggie Hall.

After the parade there is the big tree light up and a fireworks display that is usually pretty good, note to all: Do not bring pets downtown as it gets extremely busy downtown and dogs don't tend to like fireworks very much.

For anymore information about parking (I suggest Transfer Beach or the new Home Hardware) check out this site http://www.ladysmithfol.com/index.html
