So I have decided to do a blog series highlighting the best/most popular things to do in various cities on Vancouver Island in the summer. If you could, please take a moment and leave a comment with YOUR opinion on what you love to do on Vancouver Island in the summer (please include which city your input should be included in) Thank you!

Vancouver Island motorcycle ride hits 299km/hr

Driving is a privilege not a right, without a doubt this guy needs to be found and his license taken away. This is video footage found on You Tube of a blue Yamaha motorcycle weaving in and out of traffic in Victoria at speeds up to 299km/hr. At least if you are going to drive like a moron don't do it around other people. To make matters even worse this individual recorded it and uploaded it on You Tube (doesn't this fall under the category of DUMB criminals?) All it would have taken was a lane change and this person would have caused a very serious accident.

Saanich police are asking anyone who saw this blue Yamaha motorcycle to call them at 250-475-4321.
I really hope this person loses their license for life, seriously.

Vancouver Island Honey Farms

I absolutely love a little splash of honey in my green tea, I love it even more if it's from a local Vancouver Island honey farm. I live in the Nanaimo area and always have a jar of Fredrich's Honey on hand. I've purchased it in Thrifty Foods as well as from the Cedar Farm Market.

Located in Cedar (15 minutes from Nanaimo) Fredrich's Honey offers many other lovely products as well, bees wax candles, bee bread (a 50/50 mixture of honey and pollen), and soaps. If you are a hay fever sufferer and aren't allergic to bees give bee pollen a try. It was the only thing that minimized my terrible hay fever attacks in spring. Fredrich's has been around since 1966, Master Beekeeper Theo Fredrich Sr. has been beekeeping for over 60 year! Now that's passion and dedication! The honey and pollen are 100% natural with nothing added.

You can purchased the honey straight from the farm 2798 Cedar Rd, bring clean empty jars or buckets and they will fill them for you! If you…

Vancouver Island Restaurant Review(3); Sesame Sushi - Campbell River

This was our third review in our "52 Restaurant Reviews in 365 Days" project.
We were very indecisive when it came to where we wanted to visit and review in gorgeous Campbell River. A friend suggested Wasabiya, which was our first choice - however they were not open until 4pm and we wanted to do more of a lunch visit. The Campbell River Storm captain Kaydon Trumbley suggested Sesame Sushi. Although I couldn't find a functioning website for the restaurant I did find them onFacebook and a very high rating on urbanspoon. Out of 98 people that voted, 90% liked it. Most reviews stated although sometimes the wait was longer than usual, the food, price and freshness was well worth it.

Sesame Sushi is located at the Campbell River Lodge 1760 N.Island Hwy. It is also a functioning pub (instead of pub fare it is sushi!). What's better than an ice cold beer and sushi? ;) Upon entering the building it is very rustic looking (if you are an avid sushi goer, the ambiance may feel unu…

Vancouver Island; Campbell River Family Needs Community Support

A camping trip last March left 3 year old Riley with severe burns to his face, neck, eyes, ears, cheeks, hands and arms after he accidently tripped and fell into the campfire.

Now the family needs the help and support of the community.
Riley has a long road of treatments and recovery ahead of him.
One such treatment is hyperbaric oxygenation therapy which can be done in Victoria.
Taylor says the treatment improves the body’s natural healing process by the inhalation of 100 per cent oxygen in a pressurized chamber. Unfortunately this treatment is not covered by medical insurance.
