BC Shellfish Festival (Comox Valley)

 The Comox Valley will host the biggest shellfish festival on the West Coast. The BC Shellfish Festival will take place June 14th & 15th. The Chefs' dinner (which is now sold out) will take place June 14th, this dinner brings in chefs from all over Vancouver Island/Vancouver.

 If you didn't grab tickets to the Chefs dinner you can still partake in some BC Shellfish Festival activities! Starting at 12pm, the beer gardens/concessions and booths will all open at the Comox Marina Park (near the Blackfin Pub). 

  • 12:15pm the cooking demos will begin. $2 will get you a taster and a recipe card to take home from some of BC's top culinary talent.
  •  The Comox Valley Chowder Challenge will take place at 1pm, which chef in the Comox Valley has the best chowder? 
  • 2pm will be the Fanny Bay Oysters Shucking Championship.
There will also be plenty of concession booths offering $1 samples:

The Beez Kneez: Asian prawn rolls
Fanny Bay Oysters: oysters on the half shell
Flavours of Asia: various
Flurer Smokery: smoked/candied salmon
Garibaldi Fudge: homemade fudge & snow cones
Hollie Wood Oysters: oysters on the half shell
Hooked on Seafood: smoked/candied salmon
Island Scallops: BBQ Qualicum scallop skewers
Kyuquot Seafoods: hot smoked Sablefish
Never Bean Better Coffee Hut: baked goods, specialty coffees
North Vancouver Island Chefs Association: Halibut/rockfish burgers
Sawmill Bay Shellfish: oysters rockefeller, bacon wrapped oysters, oyster fritters
Tria Fine Catering: fruit crepes, clam dish
