Bard & Banker Public House

Us enjoying a couple Phillips Blue Bucks!
Cheers to an enjoyable visit to the Bard & Banker Public House! We love a plethora of craft beers on tap and good pub grub so this place was naturally up our alley - can't believe we hadn't been here before.

Here is a little history on the building:
  • Building was first built in 1885 as the Bank of British Columbia
  • It was various banks until 1988.
  • from 1988 to 2007 operated as a retail store (Spirit of Christmas)
  • Opened in June 2008 as a Scottish pub!
We decided to order a couple appies after ordering a couple Blue Bucks to wet our whistles, it gives us a chance to try a few things off the menu.
The Kusshi and Royal Miyagi fresh shucked oysters
Fresh shucked oysters are a favourite of ours - we try them almost everywhere! These we indeed fresh and delicious. The service was excellent, prompt and polite. Loved the historical significance of the building - it is really big and open inside. We'll have to go back next time there is some live music playing!
